Considering internal problems of the ministry.

In the ministry of street evangelism comes many problems. There are external problems like finding a place where you set up your ministry and taking the time to test the waters to see if that is where the Lord will use you there. Many times there are internal problems like who can I minister with and how can I pour myself into that person so that they are edified in the ministry too. When you minister with other men you develop a working relationship with them and their attributes become evident for all to see. Since we are called to walk the strait and narrow path while we serve the Lord, it behooves us to observe those other men’s lives and discern whether or not you are able to walk with them. Scripture commands us to use discernment in everything we do and this one area is foremost in the ministry because what your team members do and how they live their lives reflects on you and your ministry as well. There are some things we must absorb like personal peculiarities and temperaments. There are other things we must take a stand on and refuse to accept unless it is addressed in their lives such as immoral and bad habits. In the course of some 18 or so years of ministry I have learned to deal with these traits and I have determined that some things I must overlook and other things I cannot overlook.
A couple of places in scripture there remains lists of people who practice certain things that we as believers in Jesus must not overlook. The works of the flesh found in Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (and 1st Corinthians 6:9-11 come to mind). Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
These attributes cannot be ignored at all. We cannot compromise nor can we walk with men who compromise in these areas else we fall by the wayside ourselves. If a man has a problem overcoming any of these sins in his life then we must not walk with that man until he repents and forsakes his sins completely.
1st Corinthians 5:1-13 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
Yes we are to operate as ambassadors for Christ and yes we are to conduct ourselves in such a way that brings pleasure to our Great King. We are all going to give an account of ourselves to the Lord Jesus when we see him and even our idle words we will have to give an answer for on that dreadful day.
